Launch
Choose which pages show the chatbot, delay the launcher by time or scroll, and open the chat window automatically.
Open it from Settings → Channels → Chatbot, click your chatbot, then open the Widget tab and scroll to Display Conditions.
When does the launcher appear?
By default, straight away on every page. To change that, turn on Delay Chatbot Icon Display, set a trigger and any URL conditions, and click Update.
| Setting | What it does | Range or options |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger: Time | Delay (in sec): how long the visitor is on the page before the launcher appears | 0 to 120 seconds |
| Trigger: Scroll | Scroll Depth (in px): how far the visitor scrolls before the launcher appears | 0 to 500 pixels |
| Icon Display Conditions | Show the launcher only on pages whose Visitor’s URL matches | contains, does not contain, is, is not |
Each condition’s value is a URL or part of one, for example /pricing or www.example.com/checkout. Add more rows to combine conditions with AND (all must match) or OR (any can match). To target pages without any delay, leave Delay (in sec) at 0.
For example, to hide the chatbot on your admin pages, use Visitor’s URL · does not contain · admin.
How do I open the chat window automatically?
Turn on Auto-Open Chatbot Window, choose a Time or Scroll trigger, optionally add Auto-Open Conditions, and click Update. The chat window then opens on its own when the trigger and conditions are met.
The trigger and conditions work the same way as the launcher settings above: up to 120 seconds or 500 pixels, and conditions on the visitor’s URL.
Auto-open needs two things to work:
- The chatbot launcher must be visible on the page.
- The chatbot needs a workflow with the trigger When a new chat is created. That workflow runs when the window opens. See Triggers.
If you turn on auto-open without adding any Auto-Open Conditions, the window opens on every page where the launcher shows.
How do I start a conversation with visitors before they click?
Use proactive messages. They show a short message above the launcher, and the chat opens when the visitor clicks it. See Proactive messages.
