Revenue attribution
See the revenue, cost and ROI of your outbound campaigns from Shopify orders, and choose how orders are credited to a campaign.
Revenue attribution connects your outbound campaigns to orders in your Shopify store, so you can see which campaigns bring in sales. The results appear in the Sales attribution section of the Analytics dashboard.
What do the Sales attribution widgets show?
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Revenue Attribution | Revenue, Cost and ROI per campaign. Revenue counts orders placed within the attribution window after a campaign message, matched to the customer by phone number or email. Cost is estimated from WhatsApp’s per-message rates for the billable marketing and utility templates delivered, based on each recipient’s country. |
| UTM Breakdown | Revenue from customers who clicked through to your store, broken down by UTM parameters from Shopify order journeys |
These widgets need the Shopify integration.
How do I choose how orders are credited to a campaign?
Set it in Outbound → Marketing Management → Revenue Attribution:
- Lookback Period: how many hours before an order to look for a campaign message. The default is 12 hours and the maximum is 100.
- Attribution Type: the least engagement a message needs to count: Delivered, Read (the default) or Clicked / Responded (the customer clicked a link or replied). It is a minimum level, so deeper engagement always qualifies.
Each order is credited to the most recent qualifying campaign. Attribution is worked out once, when the order is placed, so changing these settings only affects future orders.
