Connect a Slack workspace so Robylon's AI answers questions in Slack channels and DMs, and so workflows can post messages to Slack.
Connecting Slack lets Robylon’s AI answer questions inside Slack: in direct messages to the Robylon app, when someone mentions it, and in channels it has been added to. It suits internal help desks (IT, HR, operations) and shared Slack channels with customers.
Slack works both ways. People chat with the AI there, as they would on a channel, and workflow MCP blocks can post messages to it, as with any integration.
Open it from Settings → Integrations → Slack.
How do I connect Slack?
Click Add Slack Account and approve the Robylon app in Slack.
Start the connection
Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack and click Add Slack Account.
Approve in Slack
A Slack window opens. Choose the workspace and allow the permissions Robylon asks for. If your workspace only allows admin-approved apps, a Slack admin needs to approve it.
Check the workspace
The workspace appears under Connected Slack Accounts with its Workspace Name, Workspace ID, and when and by whom it was Added.
Invite the app to channels
In Slack, add the app to each channel where it should answer: open the channel details, go to Integrations and click Add apps. Direct messages to the app work without this.
You can connect more than one Slack workspace.
When does Robylon reply in Slack?
Robylon receives a message when:
- someone sends a direct message to the Robylon app,
- someone mentions the app in a channel, or
- someone posts in a channel the app is a member of.
Each Slack conversation (a DM or a channel) is one Robylon conversation, not one per person. The AI answers using the workflow set up for the Slack workspace with the trigger When a new Slack message is received, which usually runs an AI agent. See Workflows.
The trigger fires on every message the app receives. It cannot be limited to certain channels or to mentions, so add the app only to channels where it should answer. CSAT surveys are not sent in Slack conversations.
Can Robylon post messages to Slack?
Yes, from a workflow. The MCP block can send a message to a Slack channel, for example when a VIP customer writes in.
