Robylon vs Freshdesk

Keep your Freshdesk. Upgrade your AI.

Freshdesk is a great helpdesk. Freddy AI is an add-on billed per session, strongest on general queries, and it does not answer the phone. Robylon plugs into Freshdesk as an AI agent built to resolve issues, including the ones that need something done.

The key insight

Do you need to leave Freshdesk?

No. Robylon isn't a replacement for your helpdesk. It is an AI agent that sits on top of Freshdesk and handles email, chat, WhatsApp and voice, while your team keeps working in the Freshdesk inbox it already knows. It replaces Freddy AI, not Freshdesk.

In short

Why do Freshdesk teams add Robylon?

Because Freshdesk handles the tickets and Robylon handles the automation: actions, every channel on one plan, and no change to the inbox your team works in.

Action-first AI

Robylon processes refunds, updates CRMs, raises tickets and schedules callbacks, rather than answering from articles.

A customer asks for a refund on order 54821, and Robylon processes the refund, updates the CRM, creates a ticket and schedules a callback

All channels, one plan

Email, chat, WhatsApp and voice draw on one credits plan. No adding Freshcaller and Omni separately.

Works inside Freshdesk

Your agents stay in the Freshdesk inbox. Robylon adds the AI layer: no platform migration, no retraining.

Voice AI

Voice agents for inbound and outbound calls on the Business plan. Freshdesk sells Freshcaller separately.

How it works

How does Robylon work with Freshdesk?

Robylon answers first, and hands Freshdesk a ticket when a person is needed. Nothing about your Freshdesk setup has to change.

  1. Robylon AI agent

Handles chat, WhatsApp and voice. Resolves queries, takes actions (refunds, CRM updates, ticket creation) and escalates when needed.

    • Chat
    • WhatsApp
    • Voice
  2. Seamless handoff

When a person is needed, Robylon creates the Freshdesk ticket with the full conversation, and tags and routes it.

    • Tickets created
    • Tagged automatically
    • Routed
  3. Your Freshdesk inbox

Agents work in Freshdesk as usual, with your SLAs, reporting, workflows and escalations unchanged.

    • SLAs
    • Reporting
    • Workflows

Limitations

Why isn't Freddy AI enough?

Freddy is a good copilot for agents. As the AI your customers talk to, it is strongest on general queries and pre-built workflows, and its cost stacks up across add-ons and plans.

Strongest on general queries

Freddy AI Agent is built to answer common questions from your knowledge base: order status, return policies, billing FAQs. When a customer says "process my refund" or "check why my payment failed", it needs a workflow built for that before it can act.

How Robylon handles it: AI agents that pull live data and take real actions, built for your workflows.

A fragmented product stack

Voice is Freshcaller, a separate product, and bringing every channel into one workspace is Freshdesk Omni. Each has its own pricing.

How Robylon handles it: Chat, WhatsApp and voice on one platform and one plan, with one conversation view.

Shallow action-taking

Freddy's pre-built agentic workflows cover common cases such as Shopify orders, Stripe and PayPal payments and FedEx tracking. Anything else, you build yourself in AI Agent Studio.

How Robylon handles it: Custom action-taking agents built for your SOPs by our team.

Add-on costs stack up

Freddy Copilot is $29 per agent a month, AI sessions $49 per 100 after the first 500, and Freshcaller a separate subscription from $15 per agent.

How Robylon handles it: One credits plan covers the AI on every channel. No add-ons.

Copilot needs Pro or Enterprise

Freddy Copilot, the agent assist, is not on Growth. You need Pro ($55 per agent) or Enterprise ($89), then $29 per agent on top.

How Robylon handles it: Robylon does not depend on your Freshdesk plan.

Voice is telephony, not an agent

As of September 2026, Freshworks does not list voice as a Freddy AI Agent channel. Freshcaller gives human agents phone support with IVR and call routing.

How Robylon handles it: Voice agents for inbound and outbound calls on Robylon's Business plan.

Use cases

Which approach fits your team?

Add Robylon if you want AI that takes action on every channel. Stay with Freddy if your queries are simple and you want one vendor for everything.

Add Robylon if

  • You want AI that takes actions (processes refunds, creates tickets, updates CRM fields, schedules callbacks), not just answers from your knowledge base.
  • You need chat, WhatsApp and voice in one AI platform, without adding Freshcaller and Omni separately.
  • You want predictable pricing: monthly credits with no per-channel fees and no add-on stacking.
  • You want to go live in 7 days, with custom agent prompts, SOP ingestion and founder-led onboarding.

Stay with Freddy AI if

  • Most of your queries are simple FAQ deflection, and knowledge-base answers without deep action-taking are enough.
  • Your use case fits Freddy's pre-built vertical agents (e-commerce, payments or shipping) and you do not need custom workflows.
  • You mainly need a copilot for agents (reply drafts, ticket summaries, sentiment) rather than autonomous resolution.
  • You want everything from one vendor, and do not mind Omni and add-ons for the full feature set.

Comparison

How do Robylon and Freddy AI compare, feature by feature?

This compares the AI, not the helpdesk underneath. Robylon leads on actions, voice and one price for every channel. Freddy leads on staying inside one vendor.

Voice calls use credits at a different rate. Taxes and negotiated discounts are left out.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to leave Freshdesk to use Robylon?

No, and that's the point. Robylon plugs into your existing Freshdesk as an AI agent. Your agents keep working in the same inbox. Robylon handles the automation, creates tickets when it escalates, and routes them by your existing Freshdesk rules.

How is Robylon different from Freddy AI?

Freddy AI pairs a copilot for your agents with an AI agent that is strongest on knowledge-base answers and pre-built workflows. Robylon is an AI agent built to resolve customer issues end to end, including real actions like processing refunds, updating records and scheduling callbacks for your own SOPs, on every channel including voice.

What Freshdesk plan do I need to use Robylon?

Any. Robylon connects to Freshdesk through its API and does not depend on your Freshdesk plan, whereas Freddy Copilot needs Pro or Enterprise. On Robylon's side, the Freshdesk integration is on the Business plan and above, from $180 a month.

Can Robylon create and update Freshdesk tickets?

Yes. When Robylon resolves an issue, it can log the resolution as a ticket. When it escalates, it creates a ticket with the full conversation, applies the right tags and routes it to the right agent or group in Freshdesk.

How does pricing compare to Freddy AI?

Freddy AI charges $49 per 100 sessions after the first 500. For 5 agents on Freshdesk Growth and 5,000 conversations a month, Freddy comes to $2,300 a month at list prices, and Robylon to $1,095, 52% less.

Robylon is priced by AI credits, not seats:

  • Starter: free, with 300 credits a month (about 40 conversations)
  • Paid plans: from $25 a month for 500 credits (about 67 conversations)
  • Yearly billing: 10% off
  • Seats for a human team: optional, from $19 to $89 per seat per month

Does Robylon support voice calls?

  • Hold natural conversations
  • Qualify leads
  • Confirm appointments
  • Recover abandoned carts
  • Hand over to a person when needed

Voice phone calls are on the Business plan and above, and use the same credits as every other channel. It is not a separate Freshcaller subscription.

  • SOP ingestion
  • Prompt engineering

  • Testing
