8 best LimeChat alternatives for D2C customer support in 2026

Eight alternatives to LimeChat for D2C brands, compared on WhatsApp marketing, what each AI agent can do in Shopify, which channels it covers and how it bills, with prices checked in October 2026.

Key takeaways

  • WhatsApp inbox, broadcasts and an AI agent at SMB prices, the closest match to LimeChat: Wati, from $59 a month billed annually, or Interakt, from ₹2,799 a month on Growth.
  • Lowest AI bill at 3,000 WhatsApp conversations a month: Interakt at $227.90 and Wati at $269.06 on US pricing, both before Meta's per-message charges.
  • One AI agent that resolves Shopify order questions on WhatsApp, email, chat and voice: Robylon, with WhatsApp and email from $25 a month and voice from the $180 Business plan.
  • Free WhatsApp Business API account to start with: AiSensy, free on its Free Forever plan, with broadcasts from $45 a month on Basic.
  • Shopify helpdesk whose AI cancels, edits and refunds orders: Gorgias from $10 a month, or Richpanel from $299 a month for one seat plus the AI minimum, billed annually.
  • Large enterprise that needs over 100 languages, voice and payments inside the bot: Haptik or Gupshup, both quote only for AI agents as of October 2026.

The strongest LimeChat alternatives in October 2026 are Wati and Interakt for a WhatsApp inbox, broadcasts and an AI agent at published SMB prices, AiSensy for a free start, Gupshup and Haptik for enterprise scale, and Gorgias and Richpanel for a Shopify helpdesk whose AI changes orders. Robylon fits D2C brands that want one AI agent for e-commerce support to resolve order questions across WhatsApp, email, chat and voice.

LimeChat is a WhatsApp commerce platform for Indian D2C brands, with ready-made COD verification, abandoned checkout and broadcast flows beside a support AI agent. Teams evaluating or running LimeChat look elsewhere when they want a published price, email and chat beside WhatsApp without add-ons, or a clear list of the Shopify actions the AI takes. Every tool below is judged on three things: whether its AI takes the action a ticket needs, whether every channel runs from one setup, and whether it fits the stack you already run.

Prices checked October 2026 on each vendor's pricing page. G2 ratings read October 2026, with the review count in brackets.

Robylon publishes this page and ranks itself first; every tool on the list, Robylon included, gets the same “Where it falls short” line.

What LimeChat does

LimeChat sells two quote-only suites to D2C brands that sell and support customers on WhatsApp. The WhatsApp Marketing and AI Growth Suite runs broadcasts, abandoned checkout and reorder messages, COD verification and COD-to-prepaid conversion, and in-chat WhatsApp checkout. The AI Support Suite runs an AI agent on chat and voice in three automation tiers that handles order tracking, returns, refunds and cancellations, with handover to a live agent. Email, website chat, Instagram, Messenger and SMS join through the Omnichannel CRM add-on. LimeChat names 11 Indian languages plus English, and every plan includes a dedicated onboarding specialist and customer success manager.

Why teams look beyond LimeChat

No published price list

LimeChat’s pricing page shows “Get Personalized Pricing” for both suites and every add-on. The UK pricing page lists Pro Support at £499 a month plus £0.1 per automated ticket, with a footnote saying charges are billed in USD, and LimeChat’s Shopify App Store listing shows different USD plans. A brand cannot compare cost before a sales call.

Meta charges on top

LimeChat bills Meta’s WhatsApp charges on top of its own fee and does not say whether they are passed through at cost. Since 1 October 2026 Meta also charges for service messages after 1,000 free a month per number; the service message pricing change explains the new rules.

Email and chat as add-ons

LimeChat’s native channels are WhatsApp and voice. Email, website live chat, Instagram, Facebook Messenger and SMS come through the Omnichannel CRM add-on, priced on quote.

AI actions not spelled out

LimeChat documents Shopify order actions (edit items, update an address, create COD or prepaid orders, cancel, refund) for human agents, in a Shopify Actions post from 17 February 2023. The AI Support Suite lists refunds, cancellations and returns as automated journeys, but no LimeChat page lists which Shopify write actions the AI agent performs on its own.

No public docs or trust page

LimeChat has no public help centre, docs site or security page as of October 2026; SOC 2 Type II is stated on the homepage, and feature detail comes from product pages and blog posts.

Four kinds of LimeChat alternatives

Four kinds of product get called LimeChat alternatives, and they solve different problems.

  • WhatsApp marketing and inbox platforms: Wati, Interakt, AiSensy and Gupshup. A WhatsApp Business API account, broadcasts, Shopify notifications and a team inbox, with an AI agent on top that mostly answers and captures data; Wati and AiSensy also call REST APIs.
  • E-commerce helpdesks with AI: Gorgias and Richpanel, ticketing built around Shopify orders, whose AI cancels, edits and refunds orders. Neither runs broadcast marketing.
  • Enterprise conversational AI: Haptik, sold on quote, with voice, over 100 languages and payments inside the bot. The Verloop alternatives page covers this tier.
  • One AI agent across every channel: Robylon, which takes Shopify actions on WhatsApp, email, chat and voice from one setup, standalone or inside an existing helpdesk.

For WhatsApp-first marketing plus an inbox at SMB prices, Wati and Interakt are the closest like-for-like replacements for LimeChat.

How we compared the tools

We read each vendor’s pricing page, docs and trust page where one exists, and each tool’s G2 page, on 7 and 8 October 2026. We did not run hands-on tests for this page.

We compared them on what the AI agent can resolve, channels covered, where each runs, billing model, setup effort, and how each works for support agents and team leads.

The 8 best LimeChat alternatives

1. Robylon

Best for: D2C brands that want one AI agent to resolve order questions with Shopify actions across WhatsApp, email, chat and voice.

What it is for: Robylon is an AI customer support platform that resolves tickets across email, chat, voice and WhatsApp. It works standalone or alongside an existing helpdesk. It takes the action a ticket needs: agents read the systems the answer lives in, including Shopify orders, act through tools built from your APIs and connected apps, and hand anything they cannot finish to a person with the checking already done. Every channel runs from one setup. And it fits the stack you already run, with its own inbox or inside the helpdesk you keep.

What the AI does:

  • A triage agent routes each conversation to the sub-agent for that topic, so order status, returns and address changes each follow their own instructions.
  • From the Pro plan, agents act in Shopify with the permissions you grant: look up an order and its tracking, cancel an unfulfilled order, update a shipping address or create a return. A new order can start a workflow that sends a WhatsApp message; Robylon’s docs list no ready-made COD confirmation flow.
  • Tools built from your APIs reach courier, returns and payment systems; custom API integrations are on the Business plan.
  • WhatsApp campaigns send approved templates to Shopify customer segments and attribute orders and revenue to each campaign.
  • Anything the agent cannot finish goes to a person with the conversation, intent and checks attached.

Channels: email, website and in-app chat, voice, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, SMS through Twilio, YouTube comments, and reviews on Google Play, the App Store and Google My Business, all on the channels page. Robylon runs standalone with its own inbox and optional human seats, or inside Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk, Salesforce, Vtiger and Gorgias tickets and inside Intercom, Freshchat, SalesIQ and Zendesk messaging chat; inside Gorgias it covers email and chat. WhatsApp and email start on Pro; voice phone calls and the Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk, Intercom, Freshchat and Gorgias integrations start on Business. Robylon has 32 pre-built integrations, including Shopify, HubSpot and Salesforce.

Pricing: by AI credits rather than per agent or per message (see pricing). Starter is free with 300 credits a month (about 40 conversations), paid plans start at $25 a month for 500 credits, Business starts at $180 a month, and yearly billing takes 10% off. Seats for a human team are optional, at $19 to $89 per seat a month. G2 rating: 5.0 from 42 reviews (G2, October 2026).

Where it falls short: voice phone calls need Business at $180 a month, Robylon publishes no per-minute voice price, and WhatsApp voice calls are Enterprise only. Credits are spent on every conversation, resolved or handed over, and vary with the AI model chosen, so the bill is harder to forecast than a flat plan. Plan changes go through an account manager, because self-serve billing is not live yet.

Where LimeChat does better:

  • Ready-made D2C flows: COD verification, COD-to-prepaid conversion, address verification for RTO and NDR, and in-chat WhatsApp checkout, per its RTO reduction page; on Robylon each is a workflow you build.
  • Indian languages: 11 named Indian languages plus English; Robylon’s language list has 6 of them (Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada).
  • Indian logistics: connectors for ClickPost, Shiprocket, Delhivery, Blue Dart, Pickrr, ShipDelight, Easycom and Ezyslips, which are custom API tools on Robylon’s Business plan.
  • WhatsApp Calling: a voice AI agent on WhatsApp calls, which Robylon sells only on Enterprise.
  • Hosting choice: Indian or Singaporean data centres and an on-premise option, per its Q2 2026 product page.

Pick it if: you want one AI agent to take Shopify actions across WhatsApp, email, chat and voice, with Robylon’s inbox or inside the helpdesk you keep. Choose LimeChat if WhatsApp marketing flows and Indian-language voice matter more than email and chat in one place.

2. Wati: best for WhatsApp-first support

Best for: small and mid-size brands that sell and support customers on WhatsApp first and want a shared inbox, broadcasts and an AI agent at a published price.

Wati started as a WhatsApp team inbox in 2020 and says it has 16,000+ customers; its Shopify app sends abandoned cart and order templates. Astra became Wati’s default AI agent in April 2026, and its actions library updates contacts in HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Zoho, posts to Slack, writes Google Sheets rows and calls any REST API.

What the AI does: Astra answers from your content, acts in CRMs, Google Sheets and REST APIs, and hands over to the Team Inbox with context; it has no native Shopify order action, so order lookups need a REST API action.

Channels: WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business Calling, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WebChat, TikTok outside the US, UK, EU, Switzerland and India, and RCS; Voice AI agents on Business.

Pricing: Growth costs $59 a month billed annually ($69 monthly) with 3 users, Pro $119 ($149) and Business $279 ($349); extra AI credits cost $30 per 1,000, and Meta’s message charges come on top (Wati pricing). These are US prices; India pays ₹2,999 a month for Growth. G2: 4.6 from 515 reviews (G2, October 2026).

Where it falls short: no email channel is documented as of October 2026, Growth cannot add users beyond 3, and Astra spends credits on every reply, including conversations it hands over.

Pick it if: you want the closest published-price replacement for LimeChat’s WhatsApp inbox and marketing, and your support stays on WhatsApp and web chat.

3. Interakt: best for Indian WhatsApp commerce

Best for: Indian D2C brands that want WhatsApp campaigns, catalogs, checkout and an inbox with unlimited agents.

Interakt is a product of Jio Haptik Technologies Limited, which built it in 2020; Haptik is majority owned by Reliance’s Jio Platforms. Growth adds WhatsApp catalogs, a checkout bot, WhatsApp Pay, abandoned checkout reminders and COD-to-prepaid flows. The WhatsApp AI Agents add-on, per Interakt’s guide of 5 June 2026, runs three agents: Customer Support, Sales and Lead Qualification.

What the AI does: answers FAQs from your website and documents, recommends products from a Meta catalog and records lead answers; it takes no order actions in Shopify, and order management agents are custom builds through sales.

Channels: WhatsApp and Instagram, with WhatsApp calling on Advanced and RCS on Enterprise; a phone receptionist is a separate product.

Pricing: Growth costs ₹2,799 a month and Advanced ₹3,799, plus taxes, and the AI Agents add-on ₹3,000 a month with 100 AI messages, then ₹0.50 per AI message (Interakt pricing). The US page lists Growth at $55 a month and the add-on at $74.99. G2: 5.0 from 3 reviews (G2, October 2026), a sample too small to say much.

Where it falls short: no email or web chat channel, AI auto-handoff needs chat auto-assignment from Advanced, and plans below Enterprise carry WhatsApp template markups.

Pick it if: you sell in India on WhatsApp and want unlimited agents and commerce flows at a published INR price.

4. AiSensy: best free WhatsApp start

Best for: small Indian brands that want WhatsApp marketing on a free WhatsApp Business API account.

AiSensy says 210,000+ businesses use it, and its Shopify integration ships 15 prebuilt flows for abandoned carts, COD and orders. The AI agent builder relaunched as AI Agents 2.0 on 23 July 2026.

What the AI does: answers from your website and documents, collects lead details, checks order details through connected tools and hands the chat to a person; actions call any REST API, and replies are in English only.

Channels: WhatsApp only; Facebook and Instagram appear as ad sources that open WhatsApp chats.

Pricing: Free Forever costs nothing and has no broadcasting; Basic costs $45 a month billed monthly (₹1,500) and Pro $99 (₹3,200); the AI Chat Agent add-on costs $50 a month with 1,000 AI messages, and AiSensy publishes no price for AI messages beyond those (AiSensy pricing). G2: 4.4 from 131 reviews (G2, October 2026).

Where it falls short: one channel, English-only AI replies, and each AI reply uses one AI message and, past 1,000 free a month, one WhatsApp service message.

Pick it if: you want WhatsApp marketing with COD and cart flows on the smallest budget.

5. Gupshup: best for messaging at scale

Best for: enterprises that send marketing, commerce and support messages at high volume on WhatsApp, RCS and SMS.

Gupshup is a messaging platform first, with a live agent inbox, Agent Assist, on top. Its AI Agent Library, launched on 13 February 2025, holds 15 pre-built agents, one of them for order management.

What the AI does: quote-only AI agents act in external systems through Tools and escalate to a person with a summary; Gupshup’s examples are order changes, ticket cancellations, appointment bookings, EMI payments and policy renewals. Voice AI agents answer phone, WhatsApp and web calls.

Channels: WhatsApp messaging and calling, RCS, SMS, Instagram, website and in-app chat, and voice over PSTN and SIP; email only as an API for sending campaigns.

Pricing: the self-serve WhatsApp API charges $0.001 per message plus Meta’s fee at actuals; the WhatsApp CX plan costs $100 a month (waived for 3 months as a limited-time offer) plus $0.008 per message; AI agents are quote only (Gupshup pricing). G2: 4.4 from 67 reviews (G2, October 2026).

Where it falls short: no AI agent price is published, every incoming and outgoing message carries a per-message fee, and no page says the inbox or AI agents handle support email.

Pick it if: you need WhatsApp, RCS and SMS at enterprise volume, with AI agents built on top.

6. Gorgias: best Shopify helpdesk with AI

Best for: Shopify brands that want a ticket-priced helpdesk whose AI changes orders.

Gorgias prices its helpdesk by tickets, not agents, with 500 user seats from the Basic plan.

What the AI does: AI Agent answers from the help center and Shopify data and, from the Basic plan, cancels unfulfilled orders, edits shipping addresses, removes items with a refund and reships orders in Shopify with no extra setup; app Actions cover Loop Returns, Recharge, Skio, Loop Subscriptions, ShipStation, ShipBob, ShipHero and ShipMonk. AI Agent requires a connected Shopify store, and its docs list no AI Agent on voice as of October 2026.

Channels: email, chat, help center, contact forms, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp, with voice and SMS as add-ons; AI Agent on WhatsApp has been in open beta since 9 September 2026.

Pricing: Starter costs $10 a month for 50 tickets; AI Agent adds $0.90 per automated interaction on annual plans or $1.00 monthly, and a resolved ticket also counts as a helpdesk ticket, per Gorgias’s billing article (Gorgias pricing). G2: 4.6 from 582 reviews (G2, October 2026).

Where it falls short: no WhatsApp broadcast marketing, AI Agent needs Shopify, and an AI-resolved ticket is billed twice. The Gorgias alternatives guide covers its replacements.

Pick it if: your support is mostly Shopify email and chat and you want order actions with no setup.

7. Richpanel: best for subscriptions and returns

Best for: DTC brands, mostly on Shopify, whose tickets turn on subscriptions, returns and exchanges.

Richpanel sells one plan, seats plus metered AI credits, with no ticket fee. Its AI actions catalog counted 14 Shopify order actions, 16 Recharge actions and 12 Richpanel Returns actions on 24 September 2026.

What the AI does: cancels, holds and edits orders, changes addresses and refunds in Shopify and CheckoutChamp; skips, pauses and cancels subscriptions in Recharge, Loop Subscriptions, Skio, Appstle and Stay.ai; and runs returns in Richpanel Returns and AfterShip Returns.

Channels: email, live chat, self-service portal, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp through 360dialog, SMS and TikTok Shop messages; Richpanel Voice entered beta on 1 October 2026.

Pricing: seats cost $99 a month on an annual commitment or $119 monthly, AI comes to about $0.20 per AI-handled conversation at the annual rate with a $200 monthly minimum, and one seat plus the minimum starts at $299 a month (Richpanel pricing). G2: 4.7 from 94 reviews (G2, October 2026).

Where it falls short: no free plan or self-serve signup, no WhatsApp marketing, and no list of the channels the AI replies on.

Pick it if: you want a Shopify helpdesk whose AI handles subscriptions and returns.

8. Haptik: best for large enterprises

Best for: large enterprises in India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia running high-volume service and commerce on WhatsApp, web and voice.

Haptik, majority owned by Reliance’s Jio Platforms since 2019, says it serves 500+ enterprises. Its Agentic AI Bot connects agents to APIs, databases and backend services for order tracking, returns and refunds, bookings and payments.

What the AI does: answers from enterprise documents and websites and acts through APIs, with payments through Razorpay, PayU, Stripe, PayPal and SETU UPI; Voice AI Agents create tickets and route calls with a summary.

Channels: website and app chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, voice, SMS, RCS, Google Business Messages, LINE, Telegram and Microsoft Teams; no customer email channel is documented.

Pricing: quote only through a demo request; haptik.ai publishes no prices for its AI agents or its Smart Agent Chat inbox. G2: 4.5 from 171 reviews (G2, October 2026).

Where it falls short: no public price, free plan or trial, and Indian regional languages run through Microsoft Translator.

Pick it if: you are a large enterprise that wants a vendor to build voice and messaging agents in over 100 languages.

What to decide before switching

Actions versus answers

Count the share of WhatsApp tickets that need the agent to act in Shopify or a courier system rather than answer from help content. The order status walkthrough shows what a lookup involves. If most tickets need actions, shortlist Robylon, Gorgias and Richpanel. If most are product questions and lead capture, Wati, Interakt and AiSensy cost less.

Channels your customers use

List every channel your customers write or call on. Wati, Interakt and AiSensy have no email channel. Robylon covers WhatsApp, email, chat and voice from one AI agent; Gorgias and Richpanel cover email, chat and social, with WhatsApp through 360dialog or in beta.

Where your team works

Decide whether the human team needs a WhatsApp inbox (Wati, Interakt, AiSensy) or a helpdesk with tickets and SLAs (Gorgias, Richpanel). Robylon runs with its own inbox or inside Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk or Gorgias.

Pricing at your volume

The units differ: flat plans plus AI credits or AI messages on Wati, Interakt and AiSensy, tickets plus automated interactions on Gorgias, seats plus credits on Richpanel, credits on Robylon. On published prices for 3,000 conversations a month, 60% resolved by the AI (1,800 resolutions), 3 human agents and monthly billing:

Tool Option AI cost a month Seats a month Total a month AI cost per resolution
Interakt Growth with WhatsApp AI Agents (US pricing) $227.90 Not counted $227.90 $0.13
Wati Pro with Astra AI agents, Wati AI credits $269.06 Not counted $269.06 $0.15
Robylon Business, 10,000 credits, Basic seats $625.00 $57.00 $682.00 $0.35
Richpanel Seats and AI credits, monthly commitment $720.00 $357.00 $1,077.00 $0.40
Gorgias Pro with AI Agent $2,520.00 Not counted $2,520.00 $1.40

Interakt and Wati cost less than Robylon here, and both are built for WhatsApp broadcast marketing, which Robylon is not. Their figures assume 3 AI replies a conversation and WhatsApp only, since neither has an email channel; Interakt Advanced, the cheapest Interakt plan with the auto-assignment its AI handoff needs, comes to $241.90. Every WhatsApp tool’s figure leaves out Meta’s per-message charges. Robylon’s figure is 3,000 conversations at about 7.5 credits each: the Business 10,000-credit tier at $300 plus 13 extra 1,000-credit bundles at $25, and 3 Basic seats at $19. AiSensy publishes no price for AI messages beyond its included 1,000, and Gupshup, Haptik and LimeChat are quote only. On yearly billing the scenario comes to $214.49 on Interakt, $239.06 on Wati, $652.00 on Robylon, $897.00 on Richpanel and $2,280.00 on Gorgias.

When to stay on LimeChat

  • Your WhatsApp revenue depends on COD verification, COD-to-prepaid conversion and RTO flows that LimeChat already runs.
  • Your customers write in Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese or Odia, which LimeChat names and Robylon’s language list does not.
  • You want WhatsApp Calling answered by a voice AI agent.
  • You value a dedicated onboarding specialist and success manager over a published price.
  • Your data must stay in India or Singapore, or run on-premise.

What usually drives a switch is a price that cannot be checked before a demo, or support that has moved into email and chat. If neither applies, staying on LimeChat is reasonable.

Moving off LimeChat

  1. Baseline monthly conversations, resolution rate, CSAT, Meta charges and total cost, including your last sale month.
  2. Check whether the WhatsApp number can move to the new provider, and plan the switch with the WhatsApp Business API guide.
  3. Export contacts, opt-in records and segments, and resubmit your message templates for approval on the new account.
  4. Rebuild COD, abandoned checkout and order update flows before marketing traffic moves.
  5. Connect the systems the AI agent must act in: Shopify, couriers, payments and returns.
  6. Build the top intents first and test them in bulk against past conversations.
  7. Run the new setup on one number or one channel while LimeChat handles the rest.
  8. Keep LimeChat available for 30 days in case you need to roll back.

Choosing a LimeChat alternative

LimeChat is a strong WhatsApp commerce platform for Indian D2C brands, with COD and RTO flows, broadcasts, 11 Indian languages and hands-on onboarding. For a brand whose sales and support run on WhatsApp, LimeChat remains a sound home.

Move when the price needs to be known upfront or support has outgrown one channel. Wati and Interakt are the closest replacements, AiSensy is the free start, Gupshup and Haptik suit enterprise scale, and Gorgias and Richpanel are Shopify helpdesks. Robylon suits brands that want the agent to take the action a ticket needs, run every channel from one setup and fit the stack they already run, and its Starter plan is free to try.
