9 best Fin alternatives (formerly Intercom Fin) for AI customer support in 2026
Nine AI agent alternatives to Fin, compared on what each agent can do, which channels it covers, where it runs and how it bills, with prices checked in October 2026.
Key takeaways
- Need an AI agent that acts across email, chat, voice and WhatsApp, standalone or inside the helpdesk you keep: Robylon, with paid plans from $25 a month.
- Large enterprise buying through sales, with voice at scale: Decagon or Sierra, both quote only as of October 2026.
- Already on Salesforce Service Cloud: Agentforce, at $2 per conversation or per resolution. Salesforce has also owned Fin since 10 September 2026.
- Staying on Zendesk or Freshdesk: their own AI agents, at $1.50 to $2.00 per automated resolution (Zendesk) or $49 per 100 sessions (Freshdesk).
- Shopify store that needs order actions: Gorgias AI Agent, at $0.90 to $1.00 per automated interaction plus the ticket fee.
- Small team that only needs answers in a chat widget: Help Scout AI Answers, at $0.75 per resolution with nothing billed on handover.

The strongest Fin alternatives in October 2026 are Robylon for an AI agent that takes action across email, chat, voice and WhatsApp, inside the helpdesk you keep or standalone; Decagon and Sierra for large enterprises buying through sales; Salesforce Agentforce for teams on Service Cloud; and Zendesk or Freshdesk for teams staying on those helpdesks. Ada, Gorgias and Help Scout cover narrower needs: enterprise CX teams managing the agent themselves, Shopify stores, and small teams that only need answers in a chat widget.
Fin, formerly Intercom Fin, is a capable AI agent: it answers from your content, acts through Procedures and bills per outcome. Teams evaluating or running it look elsewhere when the per-outcome bill grows with volume, when they need voice without a sales contract, or when they want the agent inside a helpdesk Fin does not serve. If you are replacing the whole Intercom helpdesk rather than the agent alone, the Intercom alternatives guide covers that decision. Every tool below is judged on three things: whether the agent takes the action a ticket needs, whether every channel runs from one setup, and whether it fits the stack you already run.

What Fin does
Fin is an AI agent for customer support, sold by the company of the same name, formerly Intercom, which renamed itself Fin on 12 May 2026 and was acquired by Salesforce on 10 September 2026. Fin answers from your knowledge sources and takes actions through Procedures: instructions written in plain language that call data connectors (any REST API) and MCP connectors. It runs on Intercom’s own helpdesk, which keeps the Intercom name, or on top of Salesforce Service Cloud, HubSpot, Freshdesk and other helpdesks. Fin bills $0.99 per outcome, and the human team on the Intercom helpdesk pays per seat. It covers chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, social messaging and, for select customers, voice.
Why teams look beyond Fin
Per-outcome cost grows with volume
Fin bills $0.99 for every outcome, at most once per conversation, according to Fin’s outcome definitions. At 1,800 resolutions a month that is $1,782 before any seats, and the bill rises in step with every conversation Fin resolves. A team that expects resolution volume to grow sees cost grow at exactly the same rate.
Some human-touched conversations are billed
Fin charges nothing when a customer asks for a human, Fin cannot answer or a Procedure fails. Several cases where a person was involved still count as billed outcomes: a teammate joining after Fin answered, a customer going quiet while Fin collects information, and a frustrated customer leaving the conversation. So the bill can include conversations a team would not count as resolved.
Seats sit on top of outcomes
Running Fin on the Intercom helpdesk needs seats for the human team. The Advanced seat costs $85 a month billed annually or $99 billed monthly, and Expert costs $132 or $139. The Essential seat’s price is being A/B tested on the pricing page as of October 2026, so a buyer cannot rely on one figure for it.
Voice is sold through sales
Fin Voice is available to select customers through sales, with pricing set on the order form. fin.ai publishes no voice price as of October 2026, so a team that wants voice from day one cannot compare it on published figures.
One owner for Fin and Agentforce
Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin on 10 September 2026. Fin and Agentforce are now both Salesforce products, so a shortlist with both has one vendor behind two of its options. Teams that want a vendor outside Salesforce widen the list.
Three kinds of Fin alternatives
Three kinds of product get called Fin alternatives, and they solve different problems.
- AI agent platforms: an agent that answers and resolves across channels, standalone or inside a helpdesk. Robylon, Decagon, Sierra and Ada belong here. All four take actions in other systems; Robylon and Decagon also run inside or alongside existing helpdesks, while Sierra sits in front of the contact center and Ada hands conversations to a helpdesk.
- Helpdesk suites with their own AI agent: ticketing, inbox, SLAs and reporting for a human team, with an AI agent added and billed on top. Zendesk, Freshdesk, Help Scout and Salesforce Service Cloud with Agentforce belong here. Their agents run only inside their own helpdesk, and Help Scout’s answers without taking actions.
- E-commerce support tools: a helpdesk and AI agent built around the store. Gorgias belongs here, with AI Agent actions on Shopify orders.
The right layer depends on whether you are replacing only the agent or the whole support stack. If the helpdesk stays, the first layer fits. If it goes, the second and third layers replace both at once.
How we compared the tools
We read each vendor’s pricing page, help centre or docs, and trust page on 7 October 2026, and each tool’s G2 page the same day. Where a vendor publishes no price, the table says so rather than estimating one. We did not run hands-on tests for this page.
We compared them on what the AI agent can resolve, channels covered, where each runs, billing model, setup effort, and how each works for support agents and team leads.
The 9 best Fin alternatives
1. Robylon
Best for: support teams that want an AI agent to resolve tickets end to end, taking actions in other systems, on every channel from one setup.
What it is for: Robylon is an AI customer support platform that resolves tickets across email, chat, voice and WhatsApp. It works standalone or alongside an existing helpdesk. It takes the action a ticket needs: agents read the systems the answer lives in, including orders, accounts and bookings, act through tools built from your APIs and connected apps, and hand anything they cannot finish to a person with the checking already done. Every channel runs from one setup, sharing the same agents, knowledge base and analytics. And it fits the stack you already run, including Intercom itself, so a team can keep the Intercom helpdesk and replace only the AI agent. A gaming company resolves over 95% of queries automatically with Robylon.
What the AI does:
- A triage agent routes each conversation to the sub-agent for that topic, so refunds, order status and account changes each follow their own instructions.
- Agents call tools built from your APIs and from 32 pre-built integrations, among them Shopify, HubSpot, Salesforce and Google Sheets, to look up an order, issue a refund or update an account. Custom API integrations are on the Business plan.
- The knowledge base answers from your sources, and the KB gap report shows the questions it could not answer (Pro plan and above).
- Anything the agent cannot finish goes to a person with the conversation, intent and checks attached.
- Evaluations and bulk knowledge base testing score answers before and after a change, and version history restores an earlier version of an agent.
- Teams choose the AI model per agent from the models Robylon supports, and a failed model call retries on a backup model.
Channels: email, website and in-app chat, voice, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, SMS through Twilio, YouTube comments, and reviews on Google Play, the App Store and Google My Business, all listed on the channels page. Robylon runs standalone with its own inbox and optional human seats, or inside Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk, Salesforce, Vtiger, Intercom, Freshchat, SalesIQ and Gorgias. WhatsApp and email start on the Pro plan; voice phone calls and the Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk, Intercom, Freshchat and Gorgias integrations start on Business.
Pricing: by AI credits rather than per seat (see pricing). The Starter plan is free with 300 credits a month (about 40 conversations), paid plans start at $25 a month for 500 credits, Business starts at $180 a month, and yearly billing takes 10% off. Seats for a human team are optional, at $19 to $89 per seat a month. G2 rating: 5.0 from 42 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: voice phone calls start on the Business plan at $180 a month, and Robylon publishes no per-minute voice price. Credits per conversation vary with the AI model chosen, so the monthly bill is harder to forecast than a flat per-outcome price. Plan changes go through an account manager, because self-serve billing is not live yet.
Where Fin does better:
- Billing on handover: Fin charges nothing when a customer asks for a human or Fin cannot answer. Robylon spends credits on every conversation, resolved or not.
- Host helpdesks: Fin runs on HubSpot, Front, Dixa and Sprinklr, none of which is on Robylon’s list.
- Compliance breadth: Fin’s trust centre lists ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HDS and AIUC-1 alongside SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA. Robylon’s site shows SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, HIPAA and CPRA/CCPA.
- The helpdesk: Fin comes with the Intercom inbox, which adds multibrand and workload management on the Expert plan.
- Review volume: 3,918 G2 reviews against Robylon’s 42.
- Free trial scope: a 14-day trial of any plan with no card. Robylon’s free Starter plan covers chat only.
Pick it if: you want an AI agent that takes actions across email, chat, voice and WhatsApp at a lower cost per conversation, inside the helpdesk you keep or standalone. Choose Fin if you run the Intercom helpdesk and want per-outcome billing with nothing charged when the customer asks for a person. For the head-to-head, see Robylon vs Fin.
2. Decagon: best for enterprise buyers
Best for: enterprise support and CX teams that buy through sales and want voice and chat agents built from written procedures.
Decagon’s agents follow Agent Operating Procedures, instructions written in natural language that verify identity, issue refunds and take payments in connected systems. Duet, Decagon’s builder, drafts, tests and refines those procedures. Decagon Assist, launched on 19 August 2026, gives human reps summaries, replies and in-tool actions inside Salesforce, Zendesk and Front. The company raised $250 million at a $4.5 billion valuation in January 2026, and its customers include Chime, Duolingo and Rippling.
What the AI does: answers and takes actions in connected systems through pre-built connectors, APIs, MCP and SIP trunking, with no published plan tiers.
Channels: voice (inbound and outbound), web chat, mobile app chat, SMS, WhatsApp, email, and a gateway for customers’ own AI agents. Voice supports more than 70 languages.
Pricing: per conversation or per resolution, quote only (Decagon’s pricing explainer). Per-resolution pricing charges nothing for escalations; per-conversation pricing charges every incoming conversation. G2: 4.8 from 29 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: no public price, free plan or self-serve signup; access starts with a demo request. Decagon’s documentation is behind a login, so a buyer cannot check capabilities before a sales call.
Pick it if: you are an enterprise team ready to run a sales process and want a vendor focused on voice and chat agents. The Decagon alternatives guide compares it with the rest of that field.
3. Sierra: best for regulated enterprises
Best for: large enterprises, many of them regulated, that want an agent in front of the contact center.
Sierra says it works with almost half of the Fortune 50. Agents are built in Agent Studio without code, or by prompting Ghostwriter with SOPs, transcripts or recordings, and Live Assist gives human reps suggested replies and actions. Sierra holds FedRAMP High authorisation (June 2026) and PCI DSS Level 1 for payments taken in voice and chat.
What the AI does: answers and takes actions in systems of record, including returns, insurance claims and mortgage origination, using 40+ pre-built integrations plus custom ones.
Channels: voice (inbound and outbound), web chat, mobile app chat, WhatsApp, Apple Business Chat, SMS, email and a ChatGPT app, in 59 languages.
Pricing: per outcome, quote only (Sierra’s pricing explainer). Escalated cases usually carry no charge, and routing flows can be billed per conversation in a blended contract. G2: 4.5 from 131 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: no public price or self-serve signup, and a deployment shaped for large enterprises. Sierra sits in front of the contact center rather than inside a helpdesk, routing to the care team through Amazon Connect, Five9, Genesys or Twilio.
Pick it if: you run a large or regulated contact center and need FedRAMP High or PCI DSS Level 1 coverage from the AI vendor. The Sierra alternatives guide compares it with the rest of that field.
4. Ada: best for self-managed enterprise CX
Best for: enterprise CX teams that want to manage the AI agent themselves, without engineering.
Ada runs one Reasoning Engine across chat, email, voice and social, launched in February 2026, with Playbooks and Processes for multi-step workflows and Coaching to tune answers. Ada Computer, launched on 24 September 2026, lets the agent act through API tools, sandboxed Python code tools and MCP tools. PII and PHI redaction is built in.
What the AI does: answers from Knowledge in 60 languages for chat and email and takes actions through Ada Computer tools.
Channels: web chat, in-app chat (iOS, Android and React Native SDKs), voice, email and Instagram Direct natively; WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, X DMs and SMS through Zendesk Sunshine Conversations. Voice supports 42 languages.
Pricing: per conversation for most customers, with a resolution-based model for some enterprises; quote only, and Ada’s pricing page leads to a demo request (Ada platform). G2: 4.6 from 174 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: under per-conversation pricing a conversation that is handed over is still billed. WhatsApp, Messenger and SMS depend on Zendesk Sunshine Conversations rather than a native connection.
Pick it if: your CX team wants to own the agent’s training and workflows and can buy through sales.
5. Zendesk: best for Zendesk teams
Best for: support teams that run, or plan to run, the Zendesk helpdesk and want its own AI agent.
Since a rollout between May and June 2026, Zendesk’s AI agents are on every Suite and Support plan, built from natural-language procedures with actions that read and write data in external systems. Each agent serves one channel type (messaging, email or voice). Voice AI agents became generally available in September 2026, and Zendesk also sells Forethought AI agents, acquired in early 2026, for other helpdesks through sales.
What the AI does: answers and takes actions through integrations, in more than 80 languages for replies.
Channels: email, web form, web messaging and live chat, mobile SDKs, voice (Zendesk Talk), WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, X DMs, LINE, WeChat and Slack; SMS through the Text add-on.
Pricing: the AI agent costs $1.50 per committed automated resolution or $2.00 pay-as-you-go, on top of seats from $19 per agent a month billed annually (Support Team) or $55 (Suite Team) (Zendesk pricing). G2: 4.3 from 7,093 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: two billing models are live at once. A resolution allowance model introduced on 18 May 2026 has unpublished tier prices, and a failed messaging handoff can still be recorded as an automated resolution.
Pick it if: you are staying on Zendesk and want the AI agent from the same vendor as the helpdesk.
6. Salesforce Agentforce: best for Service Cloud teams
Best for: mid-market and enterprise service teams that already run Salesforce Service Cloud.
Agentforce answers from Salesforce Knowledge and Data 360 and acts through standard and custom actions built with Flows, Apex, prompts and MuleSoft API connectors. Casey, the help agent, schedules appointments, manages orders and escalates to a rep with full context. Salesforce has also owned Fin since 10 September 2026; Agentforce is the one of the two that runs inside Service Cloud.
What the AI does: answers and takes actions inside Salesforce and connected systems; Agentforce Voice updates records and creates cases on calls, in English (US, UK and Australia) as of October 2026.
Channels: web chat, in-app, help sites and portals, SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Apple Messages for Business, LINE and voice.
Pricing: $2 per conversation, $2 per resolution for Casey, or Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits (20 credits per action). Service Cloud Core, the first edition that runs Agentforce, costs $195 per user a month billed annually (Agentforce pricing). G2: 4.3 from 1,696 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: it runs inside Salesforce Service Cloud only, so a team on another helpdesk has to move. Chat handovers need Contact Center Digital at $75 per user a month on top of the Core seat.
Pick it if: your service team already lives in Salesforce and wants the AI agent inside the CRM.
7. Freshdesk: best for Freshdesk teams
Best for: small and mid-size teams on Freshdesk that want Freshworks’ own AI agent.
Freddy AI Agent, built in AI Agent Studio, answers from knowledge sources and runs agentic workflows with conditional logic, an Actions Library and API actions, including pre-built integrations with Shopify, Stripe, PayPal and Wix. It covers more than 60 languages for chat.
What the AI does: answers and runs workflows with API actions. Chat AI Agents run only on Freshdesk Omni; the email-first Freshdesk gets the Email AI Agent only.
Channels: email, customer portal, web chat, Facebook Messenger, and on Freshdesk Omni also Instagram and WhatsApp; phone through Freshcaller, a separate product.
Pricing: Freddy AI Agent costs $49 per pack of 100 sessions, on top of seats from $19 per agent a month billed annually (Freshdesk Growth) or $29 (Freshdesk Omni Growth) (Freshdesk pricing). G2: 4.4 from 3,777 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: a session is billed whatever the outcome, including handovers, and previews while building also use sessions. Chat AI needs Freshdesk Omni, which costs more per seat than Freshdesk.
Pick it if: you are staying on Freshworks and want the AI agent billed by session rather than by resolution.
8. Gorgias: best for Shopify stores
Best for: Shopify brands that want a helpdesk and AI agent built around the store.
Gorgias AI Agent answers from the help center, website, documents and Shopify data, in support and shopping-assistant roles. On Basic and above it takes Shopify actions with no extra setup: cancel an unfulfilled order with a full refund and restock, edit a shipping address, remove items with a refund, replace one item, reship an order free and add an order note.
What the AI does: answers and acts on Shopify orders, and through App Actions on Loop Returns, Recharge, Skio, Loop Subscriptions, ShipStation, ShipBob, ShipHero and ShipMonk, plus custom Actions. It needs a connected Shopify store.
Channels: email, chat, help center, contact forms, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp; voice and SMS through paid add-ons. AI Agent on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger is in open beta as of October 2026.
Pricing: AI Agent costs $0.90 per automated interaction on annual plans or $1.00 monthly, and each AI-resolved ticket also carries the helpdesk ticket fee; plans start at $10 a month for 50 tickets (Gorgias pricing). G2: 4.6 from 582 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: AI Agent works only for Shopify stores and only inside Gorgias’s own helpdesk, and an AI-resolved ticket is billed twice, once as a ticket and once as an automated interaction.
Pick it if: you run a Shopify store and want order actions handled inside a store-focused helpdesk.
9. Help Scout: best for small teams
Best for: small and mid-size teams that want a shared inbox and an AI agent that answers in the chat widget.
Help Scout’s AI Answers, powered by its Compass engine, answers website and in-app visitors from Docs sites, public websites and uploaded files. Guardrails send chosen topics straight to the team, and the customer can escalate from any answer with context carried over. Help Scout’s free plan covers up to 5 users.
What the AI does: answers only, in the Beacon widget, in more than 50 languages. Help Scout lists connections to apps and AI on email as coming soon as of October 2026.
Channels: email, live chat (Beacon), WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and SMS through your own Twilio number; phone through Aircall.
Pricing: AI Answers costs $0.75 per resolution, with nothing billed when the customer asks for more help; seats start at $25 per user a month billed annually (Help Scout pricing). G2: 4.4 from 431 reviews (G2, October 2026).
Where it falls short: the AI answers but takes no actions in other systems, and it runs only in Help Scout’s Beacon widget.
Pick it if: you are a small team that needs answers in a chat widget at a low price per resolution.

What to decide before switching
Actions versus answers
Count what share of your tickets need the agent to act in another system rather than answer from your help content. If most tickets need actions, shortlist agents that act in your systems: Robylon, Decagon, Sierra, Ada, Zendesk, Agentforce and Gorgias. If most need answers, Help Scout’s AI Answers is enough.
Channels your customers use
List the channels your customers actually use today, including voice. Voice narrows the field fast: Fin sells it through sales, Agentforce Voice is English only as of October 2026, Help Scout and Freshdesk route phone through separate products, and Robylon includes voice phone calls from its Business plan.
Where your team works
Decide whether your human team stays in its current helpdesk. If it stays, pick an agent that runs inside it: Robylon covers Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk, Salesforce, Vtiger, Intercom, Freshchat, SalesIQ and Gorgias. If the helpdesk is changing anyway, the suites with their own AI replace both at once.
Pricing at your volume
Compare at your own volume, because the billing units differ: per outcome, per resolution, per session, per interaction plus ticket, and per credit. On published prices for 3,000 chat and email conversations a month, 60% resolved by the AI (1,800 resolutions), 3 human agents and monthly billing:
| Tool | Option | AI cost a month | Seats a month | Total a month | AI cost per resolution |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robylon | Business, 10,000 credits, Basic seats | $625.00 | $57.00 | $682.00 | $0.35 |
| Help Scout | AI Answers, Standard seats | $1,350.00 | $90.00 | $1,440.00 | $0.75 |
| Freshdesk | Freddy AI Agent, Freshdesk Omni Growth seats | $1,470.00 | $105.00 | $1,575.00 | $0.82 |
| Fin | Fin on another helpdesk | $1,782.00 | Not counted | $1,782.00 | $0.99 |
| Fin | Fin on Intercom, Advanced seats | $1,782.00 | $297.00 | $2,079.00 | $0.99 |
| Gorgias | Pro with AI Agent | $2,520.00 | Not counted | $2,520.00 | $1.40 |
| Zendesk | AI agents, Suite Team seats, pay-as-you-go | $3,570.00 | $207.00 | $3,777.00 | $1.98 |
Robylon’s figure is 3,000 conversations at about 7.5 credits each (22,500 credits): the Business 10,000-credit tier at $300 plus 13 extra 1,000-credit bundles at $25, and 3 Basic seats at $19. Gorgias counts every conversation as a $0.36 ticket beyond its 2,000 included, plus $1.00 per automated interaction beyond 190. Agentforce publishes yearly prices only: on annual billing, Casey at $2 per resolution with 3 Service Cloud Core plus Contact Center Digital seats comes to about $4,410 a month. Decagon, Sierra and Ada publish no prices, so they are not in the table.
When to stay on Fin
- You run the Intercom helpdesk and your team is fluent in it; swapping the agent alone does not justify moving the inbox.
- You want to pay nothing when a customer asks for a person, and your resolution volume is steady enough that $0.99 per outcome is predictable.
- You need the AI agent inside HubSpot, Front, Dixa or Sprinklr, where Fin runs and Robylon does not.
- Your security review needs ISO 42001, HDS or AIUC-1 certification from the AI vendor.
- Your team relies on Procedures already built and tested, and rebuilding them elsewhere would take months.
What usually drives a switch is a mix of cost and coverage: the per-outcome bill at scale, voice that needs a sales contract, or an agent that has to work inside a helpdesk Fin does not serve. If none of those applies, Fin is a reasonable place to stay.
Moving off Fin
- Baseline the current numbers: Fin’s resolution rate, CSAT, outcomes billed and total monthly cost.
- Export your knowledge sources and list every Procedure and data connector Fin uses.
- Decide whether the Intercom helpdesk stays. If it does, connect the new agent inside Intercom; Robylon answers in Intercom chat from its Business plan, so the team keeps its inbox.
- Connect the systems the agent must act in: order management, billing, CRM and booking.
- Build the top intents first and test them in bulk against real past conversations.
- Run the new agent on one channel or one queue while Fin handles the rest.
- Compare resolution rate, CSAT and cost per resolution against the baseline, then move the remaining channels.
- Keep Fin available for 30 days in case you need to roll back.
Choosing a Fin alternative
Fin is a strong AI agent with a clear billing rule: $0.99 per outcome, nothing when the customer asks for a person, and deep ties to the Intercom helpdesk. For a team that runs Intercom and resolves a predictable volume, it remains a sensible choice, now under Salesforce ownership.
Move when the per-outcome bill, the voice terms or the helpdesk you run stop fitting. Decagon and Sierra suit enterprises buying through sales, Agentforce suits Service Cloud teams, and Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias and Help Scout suit teams staying on those tools. Robylon suits teams that want the agent to take the action a ticket needs, run every channel from one setup and fit the stack they already run, and its Starter plan is free to try.

Frequently asked questions
What are the best alternatives to Intercom Fin?
Robylon is the strongest alternative for teams that need an AI agent to take actions across email, chat, voice and WhatsApp, standalone or inside an existing helpdesk. Decagon and Sierra suit large enterprises buying through sales, and Salesforce Agentforce suits teams already running Salesforce Service Cloud.
Is there an AI agent like Fin that does not charge per resolution?
Robylon bills by AI credits per conversation, with paid plans from $25 a month, so there is no per-resolution fee. Freshdesk bills $49 per 100 Freddy AI Agent sessions, and Decagon and Ada mostly price per conversation. Per-conversation billing also charges for conversations that end in a handover.
Can I use a Fin alternative without moving off my current helpdesk?
Yes. Robylon answers inside Freshdesk, Zendesk, Zoho Desk, Salesforce, Vtiger, Intercom, Freshchat, SalesIQ and Gorgias, so the team keeps its helpdesk. Decagon works alongside Salesforce, Zendesk and Intercom, and Ada hands conversations to 12 named helpdesks and contact centres.
Which Fin alternative handles chat, email, voice and WhatsApp?
Robylon, Decagon and Sierra all cover chat, email, voice and WhatsApp natively. Robylon adds voice phone calls on its Business plan, from $180 a month. Ada covers voice and email natively but connects WhatsApp through Zendesk Sunshine Conversations, and Fin Voice is sold to select customers through sales.
What is a cheaper alternative to Fin?
At 3,000 chat and email conversations a month with 60% resolved by AI and 3 agents, Robylon costs about $682 a month on published prices, against about $2,079 for Fin on Intercom with Advanced seats. Help Scout comes to about $1,440 and Freshdesk to about $1,575 in the same scenario.
Does Salesforce own Fin?
Yes. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Fin, formerly Intercom, on 10 September 2026, after agreeing the deal on 15 June 2026 for about $3.6 billion. Fin and Agentforce are now both Salesforce products, and Fin announced no pricing change when the deal closed.
How does Fin bill when the AI hands over to a human?
Fin charges nothing when the customer asks for a human, Fin cannot answer or a Procedure fails. Some conversations a person touched are still billed at $0.99, including one where a teammate joins after Fin answered and one where the customer goes quiet while Fin collects information.
Which Fin alternative is best for Shopify stores?
Gorgias AI Agent is built for Shopify and can cancel unfulfilled orders, edit shipping addresses, remove or replace items and reship orders, at $0.90 to $1.00 per automated interaction plus the ticket fee. Robylon suits stores that also need voice, WhatsApp or systems beyond the store.
