# Connect Microsoft Teams to Robylon for AI Support

Connect Microsoft Teams so Robylon's AI answers questions in Teams chats and channels, and install the Robylon app for your organisation.

Connecting Microsoft Teams lets Robylon's AI answer questions inside Teams: in one-to-one chats with the Robylon bot, in group chats and in team channels. It suits internal help desks such as IT, HR and operations support.

Microsoft Teams works both ways. People chat with the AI there, as they would on a channel, and workflow [MCP blocks](https://www.robylon.ai/docs/product/dev-notes#how-does-the-mcp-block-work) can send messages to it, as with any integration.

Open it from **Settings → Integrations → Microsoft Teams**.

## How do I connect Microsoft Teams?

Connecting takes two parts: link your Microsoft 365 organisation to Robylon, then have your Teams admin install the Robylon app.

    Go to **Settings → Integrations → Microsoft Teams** and click **Add Teams Account**. Sign in with your Microsoft work account and accept the permissions. You may need a Microsoft 365 admin to grant consent for the organisation.

    The account appears under **Connected Microsoft Teams Accounts** with the **Connected User**, **Organization** and when it was **Created**.

    Ask Robylon support ([support@robylon.ai](mailto:support@robylon.ai)) for the Robylon app package (a .zip file). Your Teams admin then uploads it in the Teams admin center, under **Manage apps**, with **Upload new app**. If your organisation allows custom app uploads, people can also add it themselves.

    The app is called **Robylon** in Teams. People can chat with it directly, or add it to a group chat or a team. Adding it to a team needs the team's owner.

## When does Robylon reply in Teams?

Robylon receives a message when someone sends the bot a direct message, or @mentions the bot in a group chat or channel where it has been added. Messages in a channel or group chat that do not mention the bot are not sent to Robylon. These start workflows with the triggers **When the bot receives a DM** and **When a message is posted in a group**, which usually run an AI agent. The bot can send text, buttons, carousels, images and files.

## How long does a Teams conversation stay open?

A conversation closes after 24 hours without activity. The next message starts a new conversation.

CSAT surveys are not sent in Teams conversations.
